Frequently asked questions

Real numbers from the actual software - see How it works for the full walkthrough.

What is qcok.in?

qcok.in is the companion website for qcok-qc, a Windows desktop application used by mobile phone repair and resale shops in India to run a standard quality-check (QC) on used/refurbished phones, print a grading certificate, and run GST billing and basic warehouse/ERP for the shop. qcok.in handles account sign-in, QC credits, and hosting the public certificate-verification page.

How many tests does the QC actually cover?

85 tests, grouped as: Battery & Ports (15), Connectivity (15), Display (12), Audio (8), Camera (8), Security (8), Sensors (7), Storage & Identity (7), Cosmetic (3) and Biometrics (2). 54 of the 85 run automatically over USB; the other 31 are confirmed manually by the technician or through the companion Android app, because they genuinely need a person (e.g. is the touch screen responsive everywhere, does the speaker sound right).

How long does one QC session take?

This varies by phone and technician, so we won't claim an exact number - but as a realistic estimate, most shops complete one phone in roughly 5 to 15 minutes. The 54 automated checks usually finish in well under a minute; most of the time goes into the manual checks (touch, camera, sensors) that need a person to actually look and listen, plus the cosmetic inspection.

Is the grading really honest - can a phone 'pass' something it shouldn't?

That's the core design rule: audio tests are functional-only and never claim a calibrated loudness measurement; a locked account (FRP) is never bypassed - the software only opens Settings so the device's own owner can remove it; a session that wasn't fully completed gets no grade and no certificate at all; and a simulated/demo session is always watermarked on the certificate so it can never be mistaken for a real result.

What's the difference between an Admin and an Employee account?

An Admin manages the shop: settings, pricing/grading rules, credits, employee accounts, billing and every report. An Employee only sees the screens for the specific job their Admin assigned them (for example 'QC technician' or 'Inward desk') and cannot open settings, pricing rules, or another employee's job screens. See the full breakdown on the How it works page.

Does the software take the phone owner's consent before a QC test or data wipe?

Yes. When a shop buys a phone in from an individual seller, the software requires recording that seller's consent before the purchase can even be received - confirming they own the device (or are authorised to sell it), and that they authorise QC testing and a factory data wipe for resale. That consent record (and the seller's ID) is kept permanently, including after the phone is resold, and cannot be deleted - see the Security page for how.

Which phones are supported?

Android phones, with dedicated USB handling for Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Realme specifically; most other Android phones work through the same adb-based checks.

Is my shop's data safe?

Passwords are hashed (scrypt, never stored in readable form), OTP codes are never stored as plain text, sessions use HttpOnly/Secure cookies, and the site is served only over HTTPS. Full details are on the Security page.

Can I see a sample report before signing up?

Yes - a real sample certificate and sticker (generated from a simulated/demo session, clearly marked as such) are on the Download page, so you can see exactly what a finished certificate looks like.

How do I download the software?

From the Download page: the Windows desktop app (.zip, portable - no installer needed) and the companion Android diagnostic app (.apk). You can try the desktop app on its own before deciding whether to connect it to a qcok.in account.

What does it cost?

New accounts get a small number of free trial credits on signup. After that, QC testing runs on prepaid credits or a subscription plan - one credit covers one phone, and retesting the same phone within 240 hours doesn't use another credit.

What if I want a refund?

See the Refund & Cancellation Policy - in short, unused credits are generally non-refundable once purchased, but duplicate charges or a technical failure where credits weren't added are refunded.
